Kevin Pinfold gave me lift down. I wasn’t very good company as I was asleep.
I rode with Kevin, although he was riding A+ and I was riding straight A Grade.
My favourite section was eight. I never cleaned it. The best I got was a two, but I liked the challenge. The tricky bit was a tight corner right before some roots that were on a hill. I went back to try it again at the end of the day and got up but once I got over the roots I had to go left but I always ended up going right.
I also quite liked seven but it was frustrating that I didn’t clean it all day since it was fairly easy. It was tight turns on a hill. On my third lap I got through all the hard stuff before dabbing.
I really didn’t like four. The first bank down was steep and on the first couple of laps I dabbed at the top out of nerves. Then there was a tight corner at the bottom which, frustratingly, I never managed to get until the last lap, Then it was immediately out of the creek and up a small bank. Then it was along a small goat track and a curve left up a bank. I only got it on the last lap. On the other two I just managed to bail out down the bank, turn, and go up the A+ line.
The trial was fairly easy, but with a few twists. Like two had a corner that was impossible to clean without hopping. Two was also my moment of glory: Nick Ball and I were the only ones in A Grade to get better than a ‘3’.
I had a good day although my first lap was terrible. It was well over the combined score from my next two laps! Apart from that though I had fun.
