Sat 11th Feburary, 2017, Maugakotukutuku Valley

It was a really cool ride. The only problem was that I didn’t get enough sleep and rode into heaps of stumps, whacked my handlebars on trees, and rebroke my back mudguard.

I got some new boots from Brendan Wadsworth. They were a little bit tight at the start of the day but were fine by the end of the day.

Our group was the biggest, so just after lunch we split into two groups. Just after we split up John Lawton fell into a creek. He was bringing up the rear so I didn’t see… but I definietly heard him!

Brendan Wadsworth went with the group that broke away to do harder stuff, but then he bailed out.
